Michael Kennedy is the Artistic Director of Creative Action Unlimited, a studio in East Greenbush dedicated to the development of theater projects focused on social issues. A playwright and director, Michael was a Breathing Lights Arts Award winner for her production of SRO: Single Room Occupancy, the story of three women in downtown Albany who are struggling with poverty.  In its first year and a half, Creative Action Unlimited has produced four original productions about issues of social concern:  Any Addict (addiction/recovery), Carry Your Heart (suicide prevention), SRO (poverty/homelessness) and Taken In (local sex trafficking of minors). Each of these productions is now available for bookings by agencies and communities looking for interesting, alternative ways to raise public awareness and inspire positive action. In addition, the Creative Action Playback Theater Company offers improvisational theater where audience members are invited to tell stories from their own lives and see them played back as theater, on the spot. The Creative Action Playback Theater Company now offers local monthly public performances and is also available to perform at large or small gatherings.
